Chagalkanda Jharna Chittagong
The trail of Chagalkanda Jharna is an unfamiliar trail. On the way to this trail pass the large lotus fountain. There are again 4-5 large and medium springs upstream of the Big Kamaldaha Jharna. One of them is Chagalkanda Jharna. From Chittagong‘s Sitakunda’s Bara Darogar Hut, taking the highway to the north (coming to Dhaka), you will first have to open a brick. Cross the brick opening and take the first dirt road on the right hand side. If you go some distance along the dirt road and go down the Jhiri path for about 20 minutes, you will see the lotus fountain at the Jhiri mouth. Basically it is a cascade. Another name of Chagalkanda Jharna is Kamalak Jharna.
Continue walking further inland to see the lotus fountain. After 30 minutes of walking, you will see that the road splits in two directions. Walk along the road on the left. If you go further, you will see two roads again. This time go to the left. Once you will find another beautiful mountain spring, its name is Chagalkanda. Further from Chagalkanda there is another spring called Patharbhanga. But the path of this waterfall is very dangerous. From Chagalkanda you have to go up the hill to the left. Climbing up the road becomes so narrow that there is no place to step. You have to cross the branches somehow. If you are a little careless, you will fall straight down on the rocks. So if you don’t have courage and skill it is better not to take risk. There is no need to go down the same path after seeing the broken stones. You can come down another easy way. Take the help of locals to know the way.
